Art project commissioned by Sandwell Arts Into
Health Team. Working with residents of Grafton
Lodge to create a series of artworks and artefacts
based around 1950's local shop imagery. Canvases
have been painted with logos of famous brands
familiar to the workshop participants. Labels for
jars and faux food cans have also been painted,
drawn and designed. A collection of genuine food
packaging and shop ephemera is included in the
corner shop area, to add an air of verisimilitude
and to serve as aide memoires for reminiscence work
with the elderly residents.
